Wondering where to begin?

We host a variety of workshops and events at Shedding, to support the diverse needs of our community.

Our workshops are focused on bringing communities together to collectively learn skills in carpentry and building as an avenue towards wellbeing, self-empowerment and community connection.

So where to begin? The place to start your Shedding journey is our one-day UPSKILL Introductory Workshop (Saturday 8.30am-1pm), where we explore our world of tools, our wellbeing values and our workshop space.

If you’re just wanting to pop in and check out our space and community first, perhaps you’d like to attend our Monthly Pot Luck Dinner (first Wednesday of every month), pop in for our volunteer-run Repair Cafe Workshop (Saturdays from 1.30-4.30pm) or check out our casual SpaceMakers Workshop (Fridays from 10am-3pm).

You will find the Shed at 18 Prince Street, Mullumbimby.

Can’t wait to share our space, our ethos and our community with you.

The REPAIR Cafe

Drop in to The Repair Cafe on a Saturday between 1.30-4.30pm with your items to repair, or to volunteer.

Instead of throwing away a wobbly bike, wonky furniture or torn clothes, bring them to The Repair Cafe. Just drop in on a Saturday afternoon between 1.30-4.30pm and be prepared to learn how to help revive your bikes, furniture, clothes and household treasures.

The Repair Cafe is run completely by volunteers and funded by your donations - please support us to continue offering this inclusive service to our community.

WHY REPAIR?

With Australia being in the unenviable position of having a very high per capita volume of waste, here is a chance to be involved with a free community initiative to repair and conserve while meeting others over a cuppa.

We welcome you to join our volunteer collective, where we will help you fix common household items in a community atmosphere – thus conserving resources, helping the planet and connecting with our community in a safe and supportive space.

Ten years ago one of our ‘Shedders’ bought a tool belt. She loves it… In fact she loves it so much that she uses it every day in the workshop for her tools and out on the town as a personal handbag.

Since 10 years we have been on the hunt for a replica, but alas – we can’t find them like they used to be. Then we found Rachel. Together we have recreated this beloved tool belt, to offer the opportunity for you to create your own!
